Steve Jobs Confirms 10 Hour Battery Life

Ten hours of video playback? And 140 hours of music playback? On a single charge? Sounds impossible for a device like the iPad, but Steve Jobs said that’s possible during his keynote (and later to Walt Mossberg). Since it has been a few weeks since we’ve heard some real news about the iPad, GCN emailed Steve to ask him for a confirmation of the previously mentioned claims.

He said:

“… yes, we are getting 10 hours in 1.5 pounds.”

And right at the bottom of the mail it said:

“Sent from my iPad.”

The Swedish website Slashat.se also sent an email to Jobs asking him if the Wi-Fi-only version will somehow support tethering thru the iPhone. Steve replied with a simple “no” sent from his iPhone. These personal responses are powerful signs. The answers seem more reliable and Steve sets a good example for his company.

Now, I’m really looking forward to getting my hands on the iPad to test the battery capacity.
