Several news articles show that the iPad may be launched in Belgium and Austria (and possibly the other 7 new countries) on July 23rd, next Friday. Earlier this week, De Standaard (a Belgium newspaper), reported they’d heard from reliable sources that the iPad will be launched in Belgium on July 23rd. A spokesman of Apple said in a reaction that an official announcement will be made real soon. Around 10.000 iPads are available in Belgium, the report says.
Yesterday, another report came in, also claiming the iPad will be launched on July 23rd. This time it was the Austrian website Kurier.at who posted the article. More details about subscriptions with operators Orange, Telekom and 3 are expected to go online in a few days. That means all big Austrian operators will be selling the iPad with a monthly subscription. Both the Wi-Fi-only and 3G-versions of the iPad will be available at launch.

Apple has released an update for both the iPhone and the iPad. While the iPhone-update addresses the signal strength display, making it much more accurate, the iPad-update addresses the Wi-Fi connectivity issue. I don’t know about you, but I’m very happy with the update as it really improved my iPad’s connection with my Wi-Fi network.

Yesterday, I placed an article about a very cheap iPad stand. For those of us who really want an elegant stand are willing to pay a little for it, maybe the @Rest from Heckler Design is the type of stand you’re looking for.

Back in March, TeamViewer released their app for the iPhone. They have now released the HD version for the iPad. With TeamViewer HD you can remotely control any computer. You can watch movies, use the Internet browser and all the other features of the computer you’re connected with.
The size of the iPad’s screen is perfect for these kind of applications. Although it can be handy and cool to control your computer with the iPhone, it really becomes a way better application when it runs on the iPad.
You have to download the free desktop version and the free iPad version to be able to connect with the two devices. If you want to use this app in any sort of professional circumstance you’ll have to purchase a $100 license.
