Upcoming iPad Games: The Deep, Frogman And iBlast Moki

More and more information about upcoming games is being released. I found three screenshots from three different upcoming iPad games. When the iPad launches on April 3rd lots of games will be available from the start. And many more games will quickly follow.

The first screenshot is from the game The Deep, a pinball game for the iPad. The developer Gameprom’s Pinball Games is hoping people will get new interest in playing pinball on computers like the iPad.

The second screenshot is from Frogman. It’s essentially Frogger in 3D. It looks impressive.

Last but certainly not least is a screenshot from the iPad version of iBlast Moki. The larger screen of the iPad really gives extra breathing room and options to add more buttons and other features.

Apple Announces: iPad App Store Launches April 3rd

You have till March 27th to submit your app to make sure the chances are pretty high the app will appear at the launch of the iPad on April 3rd. A few developers already got their hands on the iPad to test their application. Apple has now officially announced that the App Store with support for iPad applications will go live at the same time the iPad launches.

This gives Apple only one week to review all the applications for the iPad. Developers will immediately receive a message when something is wrong with their application. It remains unclear how many applications will appear in the App Store at launch, but there will be a separate section for the iPad.

“iPad apps appear in a special section of the store, so you can find and download them easily.”

Another iPad Parody

Students of the Wilkes University made a parody video about the iPad. It was part of their study. The video clearly shows the iPad might not be that suitable for older people, joggers and drivers as thought. You can’t make phone calls, there’s no camera and even the name just shouts for making fun of it. People who buy the iPad all know these shortcomings, but the user friendly part of the device is far more important than the things the iPad cannot do. And the students, Apple fanboys as they are, know that too, but they show they’re not blind for the shortcomings of the iPad.

The video was part of Com 320. Media Management at Wilkes University in Pennsylvania.

A Few Developers Gained Access To iPad

According to Bloomberg a select group of developers has the possibility to use the iPad. They can test and build their applications, so these can be released at the same time the iPad launches. Most developers can only use the simulator in the SDK to test their apps. The ‘downside’ of being able to use the iPads before anybody else can is that those developers have to sign a 10-page agreement. They also have to take all kinds of measures. For example, the iPad can only be used in an isolated room with darkened windows.

To prevent anybody can steel the iPad, it has to be attached to a physical object. The developers have to take pictures of the situation to show they meet the demands. Only when everything is approved they get an iPad.

My question is: is this type of secrecy necessary? We all know about the upcoming iPad and we also know all the details. Unless there’s really something we haven’t heard of before. Camera?
