iPad Applications Available In The App Store [Update]

Open iTunes, go to the App Store and search for “iPad”, “XL”, or “HD” and you’ll find thousands of applications designed for the iPad. Apparently Apple decided to open the iPad App Store ahead of launch. All those apps can be bought and downloaded to your iTunes account, so you’ll be ready to work with those apps immediately when the iPad launches.

To give you an idea of what kind of apps can be found in the App Store I created the list below (sometimes with a little description):

Get Netflix on your iPad. Just download this free app and you can instantly watch TV shows & movies streaming from Netflix.
– Watch as often as you want
– It’s part of your Netflix unlimited membership
– Resume watching where you left off on your TV or computer
– Browse movies and manage your Queue right from your iPad
Not a Netflix member? Start your FREE trial today.

The iPad adaptation of Minigore sounds better than ever with 14 playable characters, “guest stars” from Hook Champ, Zombieville USA, Sway, and Envrio-Bear 2010, and redone graphics to take full advantage of the iPad’s screen acreage.

First Person Already Waiting For iPad

At 5th Avenue in New York is an Apple Store. And right in front of it is a man waiting for the iPad to be launched tomorrow. His name is Greg Packer and not new in the ‘business’. He was also the first in line waiting for the first iPhone to arrive several years ago.

Now I was thinking, when you pre-ordered an iPad you don’t have to wait in line to be the first to get an iPad. The pre-ordered iPad will simple be delivered at your doorstep or it will be waiting for you to come and get it. No matter what, you will have an iPad tomorrow when you’ve pre-ordered it.

So this man either has not pre-ordered the iPad and really wants to be sure he’ll have one on Saturday morning, or he just wants media attention. If it’s the latter, it certainly worked. Watch the interview below:

New “iPad-Ready”-Web-Content-Page On Apple

Apple has posted a new page highlighting website that are so called “iPad-ready”, 9to5Mac noted yesterday. As we all know the iPad is not supporting Flash but does support HTML5.

“iPad features Safari, a mobile web browser that supports the latest web standards – including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. Here are just a few of the sites that take advantage of these web standards to deliver content that looks and functions beautifully on iPad.”

The new page shows major websites like CNN, The New York Times, Flickr, and Virgin America. Apple supports the idea that HTML5 is less buggy and safer to use compared to Flash. And as the iPad (along with the iPhone and iPod touch) conquer the world more and more, major websites see no other options than to support HTML5 as well and make sure their websites will be fully displayed on the iPad too.

The new page can be accessed here: iPad-ready web content

Another Popular Game Comes To The iPad: “We Rule”

Ngmoco did it again. After the release of the now extremely popular game Eliminate Pro, they started developing a new game: We Rule. This game is totally different compared to Eliminate Pro but also quickly became insanely popular.

Ngmoco announced they will bring out a special version of We Rule for the iPad. The resolution of the game will be enhanced to fit the 9.7-inch touchscreen of the iPad. It allows you to view your Kingdom in greater detail. All the menus will be available at the bottom of the screen. This makes the game much clearer.

We Rule will be available at the same time the iPad launches.
