Camera-A: Make Photos With The iPad

Maybe one of the biggest complaints is the fact that the iPad has no camera. Apple presented the iPad as being a very cool device to show your photos on. There’s now a solution: CAMERA-A.

With this application you can make photos with your iPad via the camera of your iPhone. That’s immediately it’s weakness; you need an iPad AND an iPhone. You need to install the app on both devices. You can then connect the two devices via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. The next step is to place the iPhone on a surface and you can start making photos with your iPad. You can zoom in and out without moving your iPhone.

HP Slate Promises To Offer Everything The iPad Doesn’t Have

The HP Slate was introduced early January this year, but was presented a little clumsy. There’s now a new video showing the Slate in it’s full glory. Although the screen is smaller (and to me it seems a bit too small) than the iPad’s screen, the Slate has things to offer the iPad doesn’t have.

In 30 seconds HP tries to show their product in a nicely designed (and edited) video. A big pro might be the built-in camera. You can make photos and have video-chats. There will also be support for Flash, since the Slate will run Windows 7. I don’t know how long the battery will last with an operating system like this one, but I don’t have high hopes. On the other hand, you can install third party apps without the need of some kind of App Store. As for the necessary ports: the Slate has USB-ports and an SD card reader.

I’m very curious to see how HP will perform in this ‘new’ market.

2,5 Year Old With An iPad

Ahh how cute: a 2,5 year old girl gets an iPad from her dad. The girls has played with her dad’s iPhone before so she knows a little bit about the touchscreen interface. Still I think this is living proof that Apple does make operating systems that everybody can use. One note: the girl misses the app which can make photos. Nuff said.

April 12th iPad Shipping On It’s Way

Were you too late to pre-order the iPad? Or did you just want to wait for the first reactions and than decide to buy one? No matter what, the iPad will be back on April 12th with a new big shipment. There’s a big chance there are still iPads available at Apple Stores, but if you can’t find any iPad in a nearby store you’ll probably have to order one online.

The ‘new’ iPads will arrive next Monday and people who ordered the iPad after the pre-order system closed, have received notifications that the iPads are ready to be shipped from China to your doorstep. But just like the initial launch you had to wait till the actual launch date which was April 3rd. In this case you have to wait till April 12th.

iPad As Radio In Toyota

The compact design of the iPad allows for other goals to use the iPad. For instance, it can be used to build it in a car. The guys from Soundman Car Audio have taken an iPad and stuffed in a Toyota.

In a ‘Pimp My Ride’-like style they created the video below to show how simple it was to implement an iPad in the dashboard of this car. The iPad is than connected with a amplifier from the pretty appropriate brand ‘McIntosh’. This allows for listening to music and watching movies, but browsing the web is also possible.

It’s highly likely that more uses for the iPad will be discovered. Maybe it will show up in the door of a refrigerator or maybe  it will be seen in police cars.
