OmniGroup Planning To Release 5 Productivity Tools

Another company has announced they will release software for the iPad: OmniGroup. They plan to develop five productivity tools for the iPad. The tools are:

  • OmniGraffle
  • OmniOutliner
  • OmniGraphSketcher
  • OmniFocus
  • OmniPlan

The OmniGroup thinks the iPad has huge potential:

“Remember how Macintosh was intended to be the computer “for the rest of us“?  That’s what we feel Apple’s iPad is:  the best computing device for most of the things people use computers for. It’s the computer people can sit down and start using immediately, without training, whether they’re 2 or 92.”

OmniGroup started developing OmniGraffle and OmniFocus as soon as the iPad SDK was released last Wednesday. OmniGraphSketcher is the next in line. The other two apps will have to wait for quite some time, since the software development team of those two apps is already very busy with other projects.

The application OmniFocus won a Best of Show Award at Macworld 2008. There hasn’t been much news about the tools except the updates for the products. It looks like OmniGroup is very much capable of delivering extremely well made products. It’s not clear what the apps will be priced at and when the first applications will be launched.
