iTunes Preview Leak: iPad Games With ‘HD’ Or ‘XL’ Added To Name

I recently posted information about the fact that developers can get their iPad apps in the App Store if they submit the applications to Apple before March 27th. It seems Apple has already approved iPad games. The names of the games appeared in Apple’s iTunes Web Interface.

PadGadget found that many iPad applications will get ‘HD’ added to their names. Games like Flight Control HD and Labyrinth HD have been discussed before on iPadFreakz. Below is a list of upcoming iPad games all with HD added to their names:

  • iTunes Preview iPad GamesAmmoin HD
  • Azkend HD
  • Flight Control HD
  • Grind HD
  • Labyrinth 2 HD
  • NBA Hotshot HD
  • Numba HD
  • Plants vs. Zombies HD
  • Sparkle HD
  • Worms HD

  • “We did a quick scan and were able to find several titles clearly marked as “HD”, a common label developers are now using to indicate an iPad specific version of their app. HD is not a universal title for iPad apps, some developers are instead choosing “XL” to denote their iPad version or simply creating a universal build so that both the iPhone and iPad versions are contained in a single app. There are probably many more titles in the database that have been approved by Apple for the iPad that we haven’t yet stumbled upon.”

Two surprising names in this list are Worms HD and Plants vs. Zombies HD. Both games are very popular on the iPhone and I’m very curious to what these games will look like on the iPad.
