The American Government is concerned about the increasing pressure on the mobile networks with the launch of the iPad and other mobile internet devices.
Phil Bellaria, who’s coordinating a national broadband initiative for the Obama government, says the increasing pressure on mobile networks can lead to a decreasing position of the competition of the U.S., because persons and companies face malfunctioning connections.
He compares the situation with the arrival of the telephone connection in mid ’90. When AOL started offering unlimited data connections via dial-up modems. For months users experienced problems because of too much pressure on the network. Bellaria says providers have to prepare their networks for the greater demand of mobile data traffic and expand the capacity of their networks.
Millions have been invested in a new law for expanding the capacity of mobile networks. AT&T also said to expand their network to keep supporting the iPhone and the iPad.
