Whenever Apple releases a new product, gadget reviewers usually get their hands on those products several days before the actual release. They write a review so that when the product is finally released, people can also immediately read other people’s opinions. Silicon Alley Insider has heard this will also be the case with the iPad.
“We’ve heard from an industry source that Apple is either shipping iPads to reviewers this Thursday, or has already shipped them to be received this Thursday.”
The iPad will be available in the US on April 3rd, but only the Wi-Fi model will appear in the stores. The 3G model arrives late April. It’s unclear whether the reviewers will receive the Wi-Fi-only model or both versions of the iPad.
Who will receive an iPad then? It’s probably safe to say Walt Mossberg, from The Wall Street Journal, will receive one. Also The New York Times’ David Pogue, and USA Today’s Ed Baig will likely be among the lucky first hands-on reviewers.
