First of all, the picture above shows the difference between the two iPad versions. One version of the iPad only has Wi-Fi, while the second version of the iPad has Wi-Fi and 3G. It also seems the cheaper model doesn’t have GPS, while the more expensive model has assisted GPS just like the iPhone. The difference between the two models is not very hard to notice. The 3G/GPS model has a long black plastic strip at the top of the iPad. The black stripe makes it possible the iPad can receive a 3G signal.
Walt Mossberg had an interview with Steve Jobs after the January 27th keynote and made a little video about it. Steve Jobs says the battery will allow you to listen to music for about 140 hours with a single charge. In the same video Steve Jobs says the prices for e-books will be the same as Amazon’s prices: $9.99. The second video also show an interview with Walt and Steve. It’s a video from 2004 and Steve says they are not thinking about bringing a tablet to the market. Apparently he changed is mind.
Less than 60 days from now, I can finally get my hands on the iPad. I can than write a full review about the device. I hope I can find the time to test the 10 hours of video playback and 140 hours of music playback statement from Steve Jobs.
