Today is the day we all get to see what Apple has been working on. Even today new rumours enter the Internet. And even today it seems information about the Apple Tablet is leaked. So the expectations are extremely high for today’s Media Event. Before we can have an opinion about the event and give your opinion in the next poll, we first have to end the recent poll.

The question of the latest poll was: What do you think Apple will announce on January 26? (I forgot to change it to Jan. 27). The results are pretty obvious, even though not a lot of people participated in the poll. Most people (24) are pretty sure Apple will show us the tablet computer. An iPod touch with camera is expected to show up by 7 persons. The new iPhone OS is expected by 6 persons. A totally new iPhone by 5 persons. Another 5 persons say it will be something else. 3 persons think a new Max OS X will be introduced and one person has no idea what to expect.

Conclusion: if Apple doesn’t show the tablet computer a lot of people are going to be disappointed.

With the conclusion of the last poll, it’s time to introduce a new poll. This time the poll won’t last as long as the previous one. The question is: What did you think about Apple’s keynote on January 27th? Please state your opinion in the poll at the right side of the page. Obviously we can only vote after Apple’s media event is over.

We offer a live blog on the Live Coverage-page. Hope to see as many people as possible.
If you want to read a full report about the rumours from 2001 till now, please check the History-Page where the reports is divided in three parts. If you want to read the report in one piece, check this post: It began in 2001, but it will really start in 2010.

The latest developments about the iTablet are coming from Taiwan Economic News. They say that Apple will launch its newest tablet computer next year in 2010 somewhere in February. Also several Taiwanese suppliers of computer parts and components have joined the supply chain and will start delivery to Apple in December, according to industry sources.

These are the specifications of the upcoming iTablet, according to TEN:

“The tablet PC features a 9.6-inch screen, finger-touch function and built-in HSPDA (high speed download packet access) module, and adopts a P.A. SEMI processor chip and long lasting battery pack, selling for between US$799 and US$999.”

So it seems Apple is planning to enter the netbook market after all when you look at the screensize. Isn’t 9.6″ a little bit too small? Isn’t it better to introduce more models, like a 10″ and a 13″ version? And ofcourse it all depends on what you want to do with it. Will it be a desktop or laptop replacement or will it be another gagdet device like the iPod touch?

There are also rumors who suggest that the iTablet will be linked to the App Store, so that means you should be able to play games with it. Play games like Doodle Jump [App Store], Krazy Kart Racing [App Store] or Blades of Fury [App Store]. Then I don’t see myself playing those games with a 13″ screen between my hands. And if the iTablet must be a desktop replacement then I need to be able to do everything I did with my desktop: watch movies, listen to music, play games, surf on the net, doing my work, chatting with people, downloading stuff and so on.

An iTablet will probably be perfect to read books on and give presentations. Movies and music should be doable to. Games will be a problem when you have a bigger screen. But knowing Apple they want to integrate the huge succes that they call the App Store. My guess is, that an iTablet with a 9.6″ screen isn’t far from the truth. But will it be good enough to do the things you do/did with your dekstop?

My question is: What will you do with an iTablet? What do you expect from it?

P.S. You can also state your answer via the poll on the right side.
