The New York Times reports Apple is working on a multitouch version of the productivity suite: iWork. According to the report Apple has been busy with the software for several years and it is possible the software is specially made for the Apple Tablet. The software can be controlled by finger gestures.
One example of such a gesture: if you move three fingers in a downwards and rotating movement you open en application. This way of controlling the software has been developed by FingerWorks, a company acquired by Apple in 2007. Such a version of iWork would presumably allow the upcoming Apple tablet to be used for document creation rather than solely content consumption.
The Tablet computer is rumored to be introduced later this month during an Apple event on January 27.
